Anita Ekberg

Marianne Ekberg (Swedish pronunciation (listen), 29 September 1931 - 1 January
2015) was an Swedish actress, famous for her stunning body and stunning beauty.
Her performance as Sylvia, in Federico Federlini's film La Dolce Vita (1960)
has made her a household name. Ekberg performed her work mainly in Italy and
became permanent residents in 1964.Anita Ekberg was born on 29 September 1931,
in (Sweden), the eighth child in a family of eight. Anita was a model for
fashion during her teenage years. Ekberg, at the urging by her mother, in 1950
she entered Miss Malmo. She was crowned the Miss Sweden contest. Despite not
speaking much English, she went to the United States to compete for the 1951
Miss Universe title (an unofficial pageant until the pageant officially became
official in 1952). Ekberg did not win the title of Miss Universe winner, but
she was among six finalists. The contestant did get an agreement with Universal
Studios as a starlet. Ekberg was a Universal starletin which she was taught the
art of elocution, drama and dance. She appeared briefly in The Mississippi
Gambler (1953), Abbott and Costello go to Mars (1953), Take Me to Town (1953)
and The Golden Blade (53).
